A number is divided by five. The result is divided by three, for a final result of two. What was the original number?
To find the answer we simply do the opposite calculations in the reverse order.
We start with 2. If a number was divided by 3 to get 2, we can multiply the 2 and 3 to find that number. 2 x 3 = 6. Now we use 6 as the start of the next calculation. Since a number was divided by 5 to get 6, we can multiply them to find the originial number. 6 x 5 = 30. 30 is the original number and the answer!
